Stars paint dogs for Aspen Filmfest's summer charity auction

April 11, 2006 (Aspen, Colo.) – Move over Chicago's Cows on Parade, Aspen Filmfest is unleashing the talents of celebrity artists to paint life-size Labrador retrievers. The dogs will be displayed throughout Aspen and neighboring communities before being auctioned for charity. Celebrities already signed-on to showcase their artistic talents include Jack Nicholson, Anjelica Huston, Pierce Brosnan, Ed Bradley, Salma Hayek, Joaquin Phoenix, Goldie Hawn, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Joel Schumacher, Nick Lachey Candice Bergen, Kathy Bates and Mariah Carey to name a few.

Best in Show is organized by Aspen Filmfest, the arts organization that brings big name talent, movie debuts, festivals and film series to Aspen. The painted Labradors will be showcased in June and will feature in the 4th of July parade down Aspen's Main Street. The "star" dogs will be auctioned off on August 1st in Aspen – the proceeds of which will support Aspen Filmfest's extensive year-round youth education programs.

For those not able to join in on the benefit auction, additional celebrity dogs will be auctioned off—online—through Charity Folks (www.charityfolks.com) September 4-20, 2006. Look for Aspen Filmfest's Best in Show splash page on the Charity Folks website starting in June.
