Gladiator star Joaquin Phoenix, who's on location in Baltimore shooting the firefighter drama Ladder 49, has adopted a rigorous workout regimen to prepare for his role. But he was uncomfortable using his hotel's gym, so the film's production company bought him thousands of dollars worth of exercise equipment and had it shipped to his suite. Among the pieces cluttering up his room are a leg machine, a curl machine, an incline bench, a full set of weights and dumbbells, a medicine ball, and a Reebok Core Board (an exercise platform). |
