Mel's Mysterious 'Signs' The cast and crew of the movie "Signs" were back for a second day of filming in Newtown Borough yesterday, but much to the chagrin of countless female fans, there were no signs of leading man Mel Gibson. HALEY JOEL OSMENT experienced it in The Sixth Sense. BRUCE WILLIS contended with it in Unbreakable. Now MEL GIBSON and JOAQUIN PhOENIX are dealing with a thrill ride of the supernatural kind in spook-schooled writer/director M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN's new flick, Signs. This time out, the mystery is centered around "crop circles," mystical, 500-foot-wide designs of circles that, in this case, appear in one family's crop field in Bucks County, PA. Mel plays Graham Hess, the farmer who must try and figure out what this strange phenomena means to his world. Joaquin is cast as Mel's kid brother, who's along for the rocky ride! Shot in the Philadelphia area earlier this year, Signs is set for release on August 2, 2002. For more on the exciting film, go to www.signs.movies.com. |
